New iMac 2013! How Latest Technology Combines Design, Hardware & Software All in One

Apple is among the most popular and respected companies in the world when it comes to technology. The giant has left its mark in different industries including computers and cell phones.

Continuing with its tradition of devising new products, the company has recently announced the New iMac for 2013, a machine that offers latest technology in a way one has never seen before. Its design, hardware and software are all top notch offering people a new experience. Some of its major assets are explained below in detail.

Priced at $1,299 (21.5-inch: 2.7GHz), $1,499 (21.5-inch: 2.9GHz), $1,799 (27 inch: 2.9GHz) or $1,999 (27-inch: 3.2GHz) the new iMac promises to be worth the price tag.

Apple promotes the new iMac as an “all-in-one” device. The makers are not wrong in doing so. This new device continues the revolution that the first iMac introduced to the industry.

No compromises have been made by the makers who give us a device that is rich in style and substance. The new iMac boasts the company’s most advanced display, filled with latest technologies, offering a 2560 x 1440 screen resolution on its 27-inch (diagonally) LED – Backlit display with IPS technology. The icing on the cake is that users get all this plus a sleek design that dates other competing devices..

The makers have worked on everything to ensure a perfect final product. The new iMac is thin at its edge (5 mm), and it takes less space (up to 40 percent) in comparison to previous models. Furthermore, full lamination, an advanced process, was used to remove the 2 mm wide gap between the glass and the LCD. This is unprecedented for such a large display. The use of full lamination has benefitted further in the form of reduced reflection up to 75%, and more vibrant and accurate colors.

To make all this possible, the makers developed new engineering technologies enabling them to offer more in less. Friction-stir welding technology, which is generally used in rocket booster tanks and airplane wings, is used to weld the two pieces of ultra thin enclosure in a way that makes the product look thin and perfect from all angles.

The final result is a complete package that mixes incredible design with an unmatched display that will leave you enthralled.

Hardware and Peripherals

The third generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor makes iMac the best option for all kinds of viewing. The i7 processor boosts performance by enhancing image quality thanks to built-in visuals and video graphic card installed in the chipset. Additionally, it also reduces the power consumption by up to seven watts without compromising on quality.

In addition to a processor with the power to enhance your experience, the new iMac comes with the usual hardware. There is a wireless keyboard and Apple’s multi touch-mouse that incorporates sensors. The SD card slot is also available in the back.

The rear casing has four USB 3.0 ports, 2 Thunderbolts, 1 GB Ethernet SDXC Card Slot and a headphone slot. It uses Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology and Wi-Fi for wireless connectivity.  The iMac 2013 does not have a DVD drive; however, the presence of a SuperDrive, a detachable drive that reads and writes both CDs and DVDs, substitutes for that.

With this new pack of hardware, the company takes another giant step in the right direction. Apple has been a pioneer in many ways. The company received much praise when it came up with the first iMac that introduced various new features, while at the same time removing a few that were unnecessary.

With this new invention, the company takes things to another level. There seems to be nothing missing when one looks at the hardware the device has to offer.

Software and Other Features

The new iMac is equipped to run all kinds of heavy software with perfection. In computing, speed generally matters more than size. The new iMac gives superfast speed allowing users to work multiple software simultaneously such as running Windows on Mac.

The device’s OS is Mac OS X v10.6.8 Mountain Lion, which has already become one of the most widely used OS in Macs. It offers everything that a user may need from calendar, email, and contacts to browsing the Internet and much more. The operating system has several new features including iMessage, a platform that allows users to converse and share files on any Apple device.

Additionally, social media integration (Twitter and Facebook) is also available on the new OS with special Notification Center and Game Center that offers more fun and ease. Users may also get Apple’s productivity suite, Microsoft Office and other important software compatible on the device.

The new iMac offers an unrivaled experience allowing users the best of everything. The display, the design, the upgraded hardware and software with latest functionalities make this device perfect for casual users, businesspersons, gamers and anyone else who wants a complete computer.
